Joanne's Preschool Daycare offers a funfilled environment for children 1 year and above with a structured and planned day that includes plenty of play and activities based on age. The environment in the daycare is both stimulating and nurturing and focuses on a healthy and enjoyable day.
We offer preparation for kindergarten with highly effective 1-1 care and attention for each child and their individual needs and requirements as well as plenty of playtime and group activities. The focus is on a solid foundation upon which learning can build on learning. Kindergarten preparation includes literacy skills like oral language including both speaking and listening and early phonemic awareness.
Developing the child’s knowledge of the alphabet to recognize both upper and lower case letters. Regular and consistent fine motor activities to facilitate writing letters and numbers. Daily exposure to math/number skills using manipulatives, seeing patterns, likenesses and differences, sorting etc. Developing social skills, self-help and safety skills.
Most of all, the children have a safe ‘home away from home,’ filled with nurture, healthy home cooked food that includes fresh fruit and vegetables daily and plenty of outdoor play time daily (weather permitting). Outdoors, the children enjoy plenty of activities and games with different outdoor toys and equipment that stimulate both physical, cognitive and social growth.
I enjoy working with children. They bring with them daily their natural curiosity, their personalities, their enthusiasm, and their excitement. I run a bright, clean and well equipped daycare/preschool. I use a unique hands-on approach combining plenty of nurture with a stimulating and safe environment.
The children are involved in daily activities that help them develop cognitively, physically, emotionally and socially. Learning takes place in many forms; through play, movement, music, art, craft and many other activities designed to stimulate the mind and encourage a child’s natural curiosity. Through art and music, children are able to enhance their development and express their creativity.
